Walter Blackwood was born in  Paisley in 1861.

 

Eldest son of Thomas Blackwood.

​

Married Nannie Blair Sandilands who died in 1887 during the birth of their only child Nannie Maria Blackwood

​

Officer in Rifle Volunteers

 

Travelled to West Indies to recuperate from  a long illness but remained ill on his return

​

Greenock Telegraph reports his death in 1893 in Port Glasgow after  4- 5 year illness.
